• Associate’s degree or higher degree related to subject matter and skills to be taught
• Four (4) years of recent, full-time employment experience directly related to medical assisting
• Possession of current national certification as a medical assistant or medical assistant secretary
• Previous teaching experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.
• Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and away varsity football practices/games.
• Coordinate and record the medical care of all sports-related injuries referred to outside providers.
• Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents.
• Communicate the eligibility status of an injured athlete to the appropriate coach and athletic director.
• Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments of all sports-related injuries.
• Provide supervision of the training room and student assistants.
• Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program.
• Provide the coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Athletic Training Program
• Certification from the NATABOC
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• CPR/AED Certified
• Experience in strength and conditioning a plus

COMPENSATION: Hourly rate of $32.23
