If you thought you knew about Assabet Valley... Think again!

Welcome to Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School!

A personal invitation to you…

At Assabet Valley, we are committed to providing the best technical and academic education in the

Commonwealth, and I think you’ll find that we are succeeding.

Our students are encouraged and expected to continuously strive for excellence, and we provide the resources they need to do just that ~~ we have challenging academics, state of the art technology, relevant and viable career programs, and a qualified and dedicated staff. Our students graduate and go on to fulfill their dreams, whether it be immediate post secondary education, the work force, the military, or becoming an entrepreneur. With both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Proficiency in a specific technical area, Assabet students have twice the opportunity to succeed and become productive members of society.

Mrs. Mary Jo Nawrocki
Superintendent-Director

Students from Assabet have gone on to colleges and universities such as Penn State, Holy Cross, Northeastern, WPI, and U Mass, and often find that they can help pay for that education with the money they’re earning as skilled workers right out of high school. With our AP and Honors courses, and third party certifications in many technical areas, students can even earn college credit while they’re here.

Academically, we have met the MCAS challenge head on, and currently our students are earning scores well above the state average in every category. The class of 2010 saw a 98% passing rate in English, 95% in Math, and 95% in the new Science exam. In fact, 66% of the students placed in the Proficient or Advanced categories in English, 62% in Math, and 56% in Science.

Assabet is one of the high schools in Massachusetts to have been selected as a State Scholars school in recognition of our challenging curriculum, strong business ties, and articulation agreements with both two and four year post-secondary institutions. Our Pre-Engineering program, one of only ten in the commonwealth that is nationally certified, continues to draw large numbers of students from various technical programs.

Aside from these facts, however, probably the best thing I can say about our school is that we are, indeed, a family. The spirit of Assabet that is evident everywhere in the building is that of a safe, caring community with a supportive environment, giving students from all walks of life a chance to be the best they can be, and reach success.

I’d like to personally invite you to visit our school, feel that spirit I described, and see why we’re no longer the vocational school of the seventies. Come see for yourself the exciting and innovative ways our students are preparing for success in a competitive global economy.

Don't forget to come by on Exhibit/Admissions Night, to get a first hand view of 21st century education for career and college at its finest. The doors open at 6 PM and there will be Admissions Information sessions at 6 and again at 7 in the Auditorium. Check the  School Calendar for this year's date!  I look forward to seeing you!
