Health Technology
Health Technologies is an excellent program for students interested in a career in the high demand area of healthcare and human services. Students train on campus in our nursing lab with the most up to date equipment available including hospital beds and a full computer lab. Students continue their training in long term care/rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities and acute care hospitals. While at hospitals students spend time in various departments and specialty units enabling them to explore a wide variety of health careers.
Students are well prepared for several certification exams including the American Red Cross Nursing Assistant Exam. The curriculum includes related theory classes including:
Anatomy and Physiology
Medical Terminology
Psychology
As exciting addition to our program is Emergency Medical Technician-Basic training. This is collaboration between Assabet Valley and Mass Bay Community College. Qualified seniors will have the opportunity to attend Mass Bay Community College and enroll in the EMT-Basic course. Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive six college credits and will be eligible to sit for the State EMT-Basic exam. Students must be 18 years old to sit for the exam.

American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider with Automated External Defibrillator
American Heart Association First Aid Certification
EMT-Basic, pending successful completion of the course and testing at 18 years of age
