The application process is fairly simple.
IN-DISTRICT
Students from our IN-DISTRICT towns of Berlin, Hudson, Marlborough, Maynard, Northborough, Southborough and Westborough, should download the IN-DISTRICT application, fill it out, and then mail it to the Admissions office at Assabet Valley. Assabet will need current and previous year's GRADES, ATTENDANCE AND DISCIPLINE reports, as well as the Guidance Counselor recommendation section completed, before setting up an interview with the candidate.
OUT-OF-DISTRICT
The new state regulations with regard to out of district students are as follows:
Students who reside in cities and towns that do not maintain
an exploratory program may apply for admission to a school of another city,
town or district offering an exploratory program. Ninth grade students
who reside in cities and towns that offer an approved exploratory program
shall attend the exploratory program provided by the district of residence;
provided, however, that students may apply for non-resident admission for
the purpose of exploring specialized agriculture and natural resources
programs designated by the Commissioner and not available in the
student’s district of residence.
Students from our OUT-OF-DISTRICT towns (currently Boylston, Clinton, Leicester, Shrewsbury, and Sudbury) should download the OUT-OF-DISTRICT application, fill it out, and then mail it to the Admissions office at Assabet Valley.
The Chapter 74 form attached MUST BE SIGNED BY THE PARENT AND STUDENT AND SUBMITTED TO ASSABET BY MARCH 15, AND THEN GIVEN TO THE SENDING SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT FOR SIGNATURE BEFORE APRIL 1ST. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE FOR ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS!
We will contact the sending school GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT by faxing a copy of the Release of Records page signed by parent and student to receive two years worth of GRADES, ATTENDANCE, and DISCIPLINE reports, as well as the GUIDANCE COUNSELOR'S RECOMMENDATION.
Once the paperwork is complete, a member of the Admission Team will interview the candidate.
