Reading A is a course designed for the student who requires instruction in decoding, encoding, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. Students will improve literal, inferential and critical thinking skills through a variety of genres.Writing pieces will be woven into the reading curriculum to strengthen the ability to write pieces that entertain, present factual information, and to examine a controversy.   Approaches include direct instruction, group work and computer assisted learning.

Reading B and C are courses designed for the student who has acquired decoding and encoding skills. Students will expand their vocabulary and improve literal, inferential and critical skills through reading a variety of genres.Writing pieces will be woven into the reading curriculum to strengthen the ability to write pieces that entertain, present factual information, and to examine a controversy.   Approaches include direct instruction, group work and computer assisted learning.
